How to reach freedom?

Video transcript: How to reach freedom?

What are the steps to freedom?

What are the steps to freedom?

The cause of the absence of freedom is the identification with the mind and believing it to be a valid barrier between you and life and you and yourself.

Therefore, the way to realize freedom is by fundamentally severing the condition of believing the mind and validating its place.

How is it done?

That is done through the following 3 steps:

1st step – realizing the predicament

The first step is realizing the predicament. You need to understand conceptually but also experientially your starting point of identification with the mind. Without realizing there is a problem, your ability to solve it is almost at zero.

2nd step – discovering your real self

The second step is to discover who you truly are.

Disidentification with the mind

This starts with disidentification with the mind. You need to create a distance between you and the mind so you could see these two layers of your existence as separate – you and the mind.

Here you move from participation in the mind to watching it.

Realization of your true self

The culmination of this process is where you become aware of the watcher. You moved from participation to watching. Now you move from watching to the watcher.

You gained the ability to disidentify from the constantly changing objects, which are thoughts, emotions and perceptions. Now you discover the subject. By doing so you become your real self.

You start then the practice of self-remembrance so that your newly discovered essence becomes your primary identity.

3rd step – realization of the state of freedom

Until now you have created a home beyond the mind and discovered an identity which is unrelated to the mind. You have become real. But this doesn’t mean you stopped seeing the mind as real as well. Your reality and the mind’s reality share the definition of your reality. That is a massive evolution in your life, and it touches all aspects of your existence, but it is not freedom.

Freedom is only when you realize the mind is unreal, only when you disbelieve it from the source.

Not just disidentified with it but disbelieving it.

To do that you need to go right where the mind exists, look it in the eye, and unveil the illusory nature. This can’t happen away and beyond it – it has to be right where it is.

Freedom is seeing the real as real and the unreal as unreal

Freedom is reached when you see the real as real and the unreal as unreal.

Firstly, you recognize that you are bound by the unreal.

Then by discovering your true identity and the underlying silence of the Now, you discover what is real.

Lastly, by severing the contract of belief with the mind you see the unreal as unreal.

Then you’re left with the silence, your natural state

And then all that is left is the blessed silence of wellbeing, peace and joy. Your nature state. The one you have right now but is covered with the mind. Or rather, with your belief in the mind.

That can change.
