A retreat is a period of silence in which you dedicate yourself fully to your practice under the personal guidance of Atma and alongside other participants. It provides a space that facilitates breakthroughs in your spiritual journey and, as such, it is a key part of a seeker’s ongoing practice. The retreat takes place at a retreat centre or resort surrounded by nature. Participants follow a daily schedule of practice sessions and meals and maintain silence throughout the retreat.
The retreat is held in silence. It follows a daily routine consisting of several meditation sessions and talks guided by Atma. The sessions take place in the Meditation Hall or in nature. Some practices are done with eyes closed, others with eyes open; some as a sitting session and others as walking meditation.Depending on the number of participants, Atma will also meet individually with participants for one-on-one guidance during the retreat.Three vegetarian meals and a tea break are provided each day.
The next retreat will take place from 17–22 October 2026.This upcoming retreat will be a five-day silent retreat. Future retreats may be somewhat longer. You are welcome to stay at the venue before and after the retreat, subject to availability. It is recommended to arrive the day before so that you can begin the retreat fresh the following day, and to stay an additional day afterwards for integration. Accommodation before and after the retreat is not part of the retreat itself, and silence is not maintained during those days.
The retreat will take place at a beautiful resort in Andretta, near Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, Northern India.
The venue is very comfortable and welcoming, with high-quality rooms and beautiful surrounding nature. The standard accommodation is in a shared double room. It will most likely be possible to upgrade to a single room for an additional cost, subject to availability.Three vegetarian meals and a tea break are provided each day.
Please write to atma@atmateachings.com, briefly introduce yourself, and let us know that you would like to join the retreat.
